I think the main problem I have with Megatron redeeming himself in a parallel universe is that as a Jewish person I learned since a very age that you can’t cancel a bad deed with a good deed, you need to actually fix what you broke.

Megatron does not fix anything. not only does he help a completely different universe than the one he tried (and partially succeeded) to destroy. 

that’s like someone saying:”well, i broke into that person’s house, stole 100,000$ and burned the house down with their children inside and now the kids are in the hospital and they have no money for treatment but it’s okay – I found someone at the same age, with the same number of children whose house burned down and their children are in a hospital too and I paid for their treatment and now they’re fine and I also bought them a new house so everything is good!”

yes, it’s nice that you helped people, but that doesn’t help the people you’ve hurt, it doesn’t make their condition any better. 

not only that, the one who convinces (makes) Megatron to stay behind is Terminus. that makes it 1000x worse! because terminus didn’t suffer under Megatron’s hand. he doesn’t even know about the monstrous things Megatron has done. it’s one thing when the person whose house you burned down tells you to give the money to somebody else, it’s a completely different story when a friend of your’s who wasn’t involved at all tells you so.

if they went back to Cybertron and discovered that the functionalists took over Cybertron from Starscream in their absence and Megatron became a fascists’ killing machine – I’d be more ok with that (not completely ok because I like Starscream succeeding at his job, but it would have been better) 

instead, Megatron basically gets a new Cybertron to play with after he broke the last one. with people who regard him as a fearless hero instead of the murderer he is and a new Orion Pax to be bff with. that is just not ok.

plus I need him to resolve thing with Starscream and he didn’t so there is that
