James Roberts was asked in a Q&A on Twitter a while back what the relationship between Terminus and Megatron is, and he responded that Terminus was like a father figure to Megatron.  Might not want to get your hopes up too much on seeing them as conjunx endurae.

Also sort of confirms that sharing energon isn’t something just conjunx endurae do.

So maybe it’s something Cybertronians only do with robots they’re really close to, regardless of the kind of relationship?  Maybe it has something to do with transferring energy to a bot that is low on fuel/can’t intake energon on their own (remember how much of a physically weak state Terminus was in when we see Megatron doing this)?  Just throwing around ideas.

So exchanging fuel is an act of caring, a type of love, but also rather intimate.
