Today our thoughts and prayers are with the Salomon family, devastated by last night’s horrific terrorist attack in Halamish – a family torn apart in one senseless murderous moment. 3 innocent people, Yosef Salomon, 70, his daughter Haya, 46, and son Elad, 36 were murdered. May their memory be a blessing.
July 21, 2017: A Palestinian terrorist murdered three Jews as they were enjoying Shabbat dinner. It was in reaction to metal detectors being installed on the Temple Mount. Sure, that’s a stupid excuse, but we know that for Palestinians, and for Jew-haters in general, any excuse will do. We also know that Palestinian leadership encourages and celebrates these kinds of murders.
Here is a partial result of the murder:
The Hamas response to the murders was predictable:
Hamas issued a statement this evening welcoming the attack, which they called “heroic.” According to Hamas, the attack followed “Israel’s violation of the rights of our people in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Of course, killing grandparents as they are having a family dinner is heroic. And yes, trying to protect Muslim worshippers at the alleged third holiest site in Islam is a violation. Using a mosque to store weapons and as a place to murder people is a perfectly acceptable use of a holy place, right? Probably only those silly Zionists would consider that a defilement of a holy site, but what do they know?
Here is Israel’s brutal treatment of the murderer, who was shot but only wounded.
Yes, that’s right. He’s resting comfortably, getting some of the best medical care in the world, being fed regularly, and being treated like a human being. Can the contrast between Israelis and Palestinians be any greater?
I am heartsick over what is happening in Jerusalem now. And it is all completely the fault of the attitude of entitlement, chauvinism, and supremacism within the PA and the waqf. As a Jew, I have never seen anyone actually behave so much like they believe they are God’s Chosen People as much as the waqf does.
Practically every synagogue I’ve ever been in required a metal detector. I’ve had job interviews that featured metal detectors. Countless mosques have metal detectors. Thousands of people could die over this, it could easily trigger a major Hamas launch or riots throughout Judea and Samaria. It’s so petty and small, it’s like something out of the fucking Butter Battle Book. Jews have made every attempt to compromise and coexist, yet to many in the Palestinian and broader Muslim community, we simply are not supposed to exist.
Begin was right. “Arabs kill Arabs and the world blames the Jews.”
I don’t live in the United States – that’s true. But many of you don’t live in Israel and that hasn’t stopped you from judging Israel, from believing Israel needs to act a certain way. You were silent when Obama attempted to influence our elections and furious when we told him (and you) to shove it.
Now you are outraged at why we fail to understand and condemn a rumor that Russia might have tried to do the same thing that we have PROVEN Obama did to Israel…and you wonder why we have lost patience.
At first I was shocked by the anger and the vehemence and the self-induced terror. Then I was hopeful that reality would set in, if not before, then at least following the inauguration.
Now, I begin to see that apparently there is something in you that needs this anger, this all-consuming fear. And so I yield. I will not attempt to convince you or anyone that Trump is nothing more (or less) than a man. I surrender the US to your fears.
But I remain what I am…and what I was, even then, when I was 20 years old. I am a Jew; I am a woman.
And I have grown in the last 30+ years to be so much more. I am an Israeli. I am a wife. I am a mother. I am a grandmother. And I do not fear Donald Trump because the enemies I face are so much more real, so much more violent and deadly.
My enemies blow up buses and restaurants; they stab pregnant women and children; they ram baby carriages. They murder fathers and mothers in front of their children and then dance in the streets to celebrate.
15 years ago, today, a suicide bomber walked into Sbarro Pizza and killed 15 Israelis, including 8 children. The bomb injured 130 others. Today, we remember those who lost their lives in this horrific terrorist attack.
