This panel is so important to me.
reading from the beginning reminded me how much Whirl has grown as a character – he started alone, not caring about other people or himself and very obviously suicidal, he always seemed to welcome the possibility of him dying, goading other into killing him and constantly thinking his life is worthless that seeing him care about his own safety like that, after making real connections with other people (not to mention that it was that same growth in character & compassion is what saved all of them in the end) it’s… it’s really powerful.
I love this birb so much and I want him to keep getting happier and healthier and just… I love him ok? I suppose somebody else will probably do a better job of putting this into words but it just means a lot to me…
recently i had a friend point out that he’s chronically ill which i had never considered before but i love it?
all he ever does is get tricked and/or defeated constantly but everyone still thinks of him as a hero because he’s brave and kind :crying cat reaction pic:
