The various Optimus Primes I’ve seen

IDW Optimus: somewhat out of touch robot dad, has no idea what’s going on and makes poor life choices.

G1 Optimus: laid back young robot dad, probably secretly encourages his kids picking fights with Old Man Megatron next door.

Beast Wars Optimus: post-college student and his gang stranded on a weird planet with the neighbors from hades. Also sort of raising the group Kid Brother, Cheetor.

Transformers Cybertron Optimus: ok I was like 12, all I remember is basically “Oh for the love of Pete, what’s Hot Shot gotten himself into now?”

TFA Optimus: “Wait what I’m a dad? When did this happen and why am I in charge of all these kids? I’m a kid too?”

TFP Optimus: Serious robot dad, has seen a lot of bad stuff and is not going to let any of it happen to you. Always ready with some good fatherly wisdom. Just don’t threaten his charges in his presence.

RiD 2015 Optimus: older robot dad, kids all grown up and he’s trying to let them do their own thing but old habits die hard.

Bayverse Optimus: “Hello, yes, I have spontaneously adopted an entire military squadron and a few jittery teenagers. Come near my kids and I’ll literally tear your face off.”

anybody else thinks deathsaurus is gonna be really pissed with Tarn now? or maybe even switch sides? i mean we all know he has a problem with leader who kill their own soldiers:

meanwhile megatron:

well… he doesn’t “treat his foot soldiers like fodder” anymore, does this mean he and Deathsaurus don’t have a problem anymore?

Tailgate is not a child you goddamn idiots he was alive for who knows how long before falling down the hole. His arc isn’t supposed to say he’s a child it’s to signify how naive he is because he was out of action for so long Good Lord.

And if he was supposed to be a child you can’t have your cake & eat it too & act like it’s okay for Cyclonus & not for Getaway.

firstly, i’d like to say i totally agree with you: Tailgate is 100% adult, it was confirmed transformers don’t have “child” state – they are born as adults. however – we do know how long tailgate lived before he was buried underground – less than 2 weeks:

so it’s not really that he was out for so long as much as simply him being terribly inexperienced…. (an

inexperienced adult not a child (!))

I have to be honest, I still did not understand why Cyclonus did this gesture!

whispers personally i think he was angry w himself for not having the right words to comfort tailgate.

what DO you say when someones first move after learning they have 3 days left is to come tell you? what does that say about you, about what you mean to them? i think he was really at a loss for words, and instead of comforting him, cyclonus pulled away, and in turn, alienated the only person on the ship that saw anything good in him.

i think him scarring himself up was those feelings surfacing, of frustration and anguish, of immediate, burning regret because he, with all of his experiences and age, really didnt know how to respond, let alone help tailgate deal with it. so he spoke coldly, he shut himself away. maybe it was a way to punish himself for not being better at communicating, and for hurting tailgate in the way he did because of it.

and maybe? it also had something to do with how tailgate said he never really did anything important, how he’d never made a mark, anywhere. cyclonus’ beliefs involve wounds that are not critical to survival being left alone and unrepaired, so he’d always have them, and tailgate would have mattered somewhere, even if only to him.
